Konner Wade’s steady contribution at Norfolk continued with a six-inning performance in which he allowed just one run on four hits, one walk, and three strikeouts. The one run came on a solo home run to Cristian Pache, one of the top hitting prospects in all of baseball. Dusten Knight was fortunate to record the save despite allowing three hits in his one inning out of the ‘pen.
The Tides were outhit 7-5 in Game 1, but it was enough to secure the win. J.C Escarra hit his third homer of the season, a solo shot in the the second inning.
