Orioles minor league recap 7/21: TT Bowens hits a three-run jack for Norfolk

This was a seesaw game that saw Syracuse go up 5-0 before Norfolk came back with a four-run sixth inning, going up 6-5 before relievers Keegan Gillies and Preston Johnson let the game slip away in the eighth and ninth innings.

Norfolk starter Roansy Contreras wasn’t very good, giving up five runs in five innings. He allowed a two-run home run in the first, another homer in the second, and a two-run triple in the fourth, allowing the Syracuse Mets to really pad their OPS’s.

The Tides did make it interesting, with a pair of home runs by TT Bowens, scoring Terrin Vavra and Emmanuel Rivera, and one by Jeremiah Jackson (.
