In a hard-fought contest against the Redbirds, Norfolk lost by a single run. Starter Kyle Bradish had a rough go of it, allowing five earned runs in the second inning and exiting before he could register the final out of the frame. His ERA is up to 5.65 on the year.
Down 5-2 after the second inning, Norfolk chipped away at the Redbirds’ lead with a run in the third on a solo homer by Zach Jarrett. The Tides got two more in the fifth, on a double steal of second base and home, and an RBI single by Jarrett.
