Durham plated all four of its runs against starter Jimmy Yacabonis with one swing of the bat in the first inning. After two walks and a single, Christian Arroyo blasted a game-breaking grand slam over the left field fence. Joely Rodriguez and Jason Gurka combined for 5.2 innings of scoreless relief for Bowie. Rodriguez struck out five in 2.2 innings pitched.
Alex Presley accounted for the only Norfolk run with a solo shot in the top of the ninth. Presley finished 2-3 and also worked a walk.
