Orioles' Mark Trumbo named co-AL Player of the Week

Orioles outfielder Mark Trumbo’s record-setting power display this past week earned him the first weekly award of his six-year major league career on Monday.

Trumbo won co-AL Player of the Week honors – along with Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve – for the week of April 11-17. Over that span, Trumbo hit .320/.346/.960 with five homers and 11 RBIs.

He homered in four of his six games this past week, including two homers in the Orioles’ nine-run seventh inning in Friday night’s 11-5 win in Texas. He became the first Orioles player in the franchise’s 63-year history to hit two homers in the same inning.
