Orioles manager Buck Showalter on Thursday laid out the timeline that would be required for catcher Matt Wieters to return to baseball activities and games. Wieters has been dealing with soreness in his surgically repaired right elbow since feeling tightness on a throw in Saturday’s game.
“It’s not too early to talk about it or get asked about it,” Showalter said. “It’s too early for me to [say when]. … Now that he’s got most of the discomfort out of there, now he goes into the strengthening procedures and we’ll get a ball in his hand as soon as possible.
