The Orioles and the Cardinals are both in the midst of historic seasons—but for opposite reasons. While Baltimore is on pace for its first 100-win season since 1980, St. Louis is headed for its first losing season since 1999. While the Cardinals have been the gold standard among baseball’s bird teams—and the Orioles the bottom feeders—2023 has seen those roles reversed.
