Miguel Gonzalez optimistic he'll pitch again this season, plus more Orioles notes

Right-hander Miguel Gonzalez is optimistic he will be able to pitch again this season after receiving MRI results on his right shoulder and elbow that showed no structural damage.

Gonzalez said he had felt fatigue over the past two weeks, but didn’t think it was anything out of the usual since at this point in the season because all players have their bumps and bruises.

But after feeling discomfort in both his shoulder and elbow following his last start on Sunday, he knew is wasn’t just the normal late-season aches and pains.

Gonzalez had a cortisone injection on Monday, and will likely need another several days until he can resume a throwing program.
