Jones' back-to-back homer

CHICAGO -- The Orioles' lack of offense has been well-documented, especially in a week when they have scuffled against the rebuilding White Sox. But a day after manager Buck Showalter called his team's offensive issues "glaring" and cited a lack of runs for the Orioles' issues remaining competitive, Baltimore's bats came alive.

Trey Mancini and Adam Jones opened the second inning of Thursday's game against the White Sox with back-to-back home runs as the Orioles chased White Sox starter Lucas Giolito early. Jones' homer, to dead center field, cleared the wall despite White Sox center fielder Adam Engel's hot pursuit, which forced him to lose his glove after he collided with the wall.
