SARASOTA, Fla. -- Orioles center fielder Adam Jones made it clear before last season ended that he was hoping to sit down with principal owner Peter Angelos to discuss the importance of keeping the core of the team together.
"You see the result of that," Jones said from the Orioles' clubhouse on Wednesday, as the team -- with pending agreements to add both Yovani Gallardo and Dexter Fowler -- has already engaged in a record spending spree this winter.
While the team waits for the results of pitcher Yovani Gallardo's physical -- expected on Wednesday -- Baltimore filled its other major hole on Tuesday night, agreeing to terms on a three-year contract with outfielder Dexter Fowler, a source confirmed to MLB.
