It turns out that John Means cannot pitch every single game, which is unfortunate and the Orioles should rethink that strategy. But watching Matt Harvey pitch has been pretty fun recently. He has won three straight starts and has his season ERA down to 4.06, the lowest it’s been since Opening Day.
Harvey has already faced this Red Sox lineup twice. In total he has thrown 9.2 innings and allowed six runs on 13 hits, two walks, and nine strikeouts. It could have gone better overall. Fortunately, the O’s ‘pen is fresh because, and I don’t know if you’ve heard this, but the most recent Orioles starting pitcher threw a no-hitter in their last game.
