It’s Rivalry Weekend in MLB as the Orioles and Nationals face off for the second time this season. Get excited!
This Battle of the Beltways is not exactly a marquee matchup, with the free-falling Orioles (15-27) hosting the rebuilding Nationals (18-27). For the O’s, it’s a chance to redeem themselves from their pathetic three-game sweep at the hands of the Twins, in which they scored in only two of their 27 innings. Or it’s a chance to further bury themselves, especially since they’re facing a tough lefty in Nats ace MacKenzie Gore.
For what it’s worth, the O’s did manage to defeat Gore when they faced him at Nationals Park last month, scraping across two runs for a 2-1 victory.
