On the first of what projects to be many chilly nights this month at Camden Yards, Orioles manager Buck Showalter had to stop himself from getting all warm and sappy with his assessment of first baseman Chris Davis.
Davis has been instrumental in the team’s first two wins of the season, both at the plate and with his glove, and Showalter could really only describe what he has been seeing with his All-Star first baseman in sentiments best expressed around a campfire.
“I noticed very early on, I think Chris — I wish there was some eloquent way to say it — he just seems to be in a rhythm about a lot of things in his life,” Showalter said.
