BOSTON -- Orioles executive vice president of baseball operations Dan Duquette said Tuesday that he has not been contacted by the Washington Nationals in regards to their team president role.
Duquette's name surfaced according to a report earlier in the afternoon from the St. Paul (Minn.) Pioneer Press, which used an unnamed source to say Washington was pursuing Duquette. Duquette refuted the report in a text message to MLB.com.
The Nationals also publicly rebutted the report through a spokesperson.
This isn't the first time Duquette has been linked to another front office, as he was rumored to be coveted by Toronto in the January 2015.
