New York entered Tuesday in an 18-inning offensive drought following two consecutive shutouts. The Mets managed seven hits off Orioles starter Bud Norris, with Kevin Plawecki's two-run double serving as the major blow. Daniel Murphy and Wilmer Flores also drove in and scored runs for New York. Flores converted all three chances in his return to shortstop following his weekend benching.
Chris Davis added a solo homer off Jeurys Familia in the ninth. It was the first run allowed in his last nine appearances for Familia, who recovered to collect his Major League-leading 11th save.
