Battling tendinitis, Gausman throws sim game

BALTIMORE -- Kevin Gausman threw a two-inning simulated game at the O's Spring Training facility in Sarasota, Fla., on Wednesday, and the right-hander remains on track to re-join the Orioles on April 19.

Gausman, who is rehabbing from right shoulder tendinitis, will fly to Baltimore and could be in the O's clubhouse on Thursday before heading to Double-A Bowie to pitch three or four innings on Saturday. He would pitch for Class A Advanced Frederick after that and, assuming all went well, rejoin Baltimore.

Lefty reliever Brian Matusz will throw an inning on Thursday and Friday for Double-A Bowie, according to manager Buck Showalter.
