Thursday’s announced player movement throughout the Baltimore Orioles minor league system was enough to make even the most ardent fan’s head spin; announcements came fast and furious. Even before the dust settled on those moves more moves came on Friday.
Some of the moves were a result of the domino effect of the Baltimore Orioles optioning both LHP Paul Fry and RHP Evan Phillips to Norfolk (AAA) following Thursday’s 5-2 loss to the Seattle Mariners.
The Bowie Baysox (AA) saw LHP Branden Kline recalled to Baltimore to add a fresh arm to the major league bullpen while LHP Zach Muckenhirn was promoted to Norfolk.
