Baltimore Orioles Daily: Machado gets no help as Birds fall to Yanks

The Baltimore Orioles lost their sixth consecutive game on Friday, falling to the New York Yankees 4-1. At 17-40, the Birds own the worst record in MLB, and with the way they’ve been playing, it doesn’t look like they’ll reverse the tide any time soon.

Manny Machado opened the scoring with a home run in the first inning, but his teammates couldn’t follow the example — he was the last Oriole to cross the plate all night. Andrew Cashner had a solid start, but he was done in by a pair of misplays by outfielders Adam Jones and Joey Rickard, allowing the Yankees to take a 3-1 lead through six.
