Adam Jones expects to play Tuesday after leaving Monday's game with sore shoulder

Orioles center fielder Adam Jones, who has been dealing with physical issues much of the season but has still played in 126 of the club’s 137 games, left Monday’s loss at Yankee Stadium before the bottom of the eighth due to right shoulder soreness.

Despite admitting he is dealing with injuries besides just the shoulder, he said he expects to play Tuesday.

“Just playing this game hard for this 25-, now 40-man [roster],” Jones said. “Playing hard, body is going through a little bit of soreness. It’s fine. I’ll be back out there tomorrow.”

Orioles manager Buck Showalter said he has been monitoring Jones’ throwing shoulder for a while now -- Jones missed eight games in June with a right shoulder injury -- and saw him grimace as he made a throw to first base in the sixth inning Monday.
