HARTFORD CITY, Ind. — Before Yorktown played Guerin Catholic in the baseball sectional championship at Blackford, before the Tigers pounded the Golden Eagles, Yorktown coach PJ Fauquher reminded his players how far they’d come.
Fauquher took them back to an April 23 loss against Greenfield-Central, when Yorktown gave up 11 runs in the first inning and lost 12-9. He jogged their memory of his message before that game, before the Tigers hit rock bottom with a 4-10 start to the season. And then he brought them back to the present.
