Yorktown falls short, loses in Class 3A softball state final against New Palestine

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Yorktown knew the severity of the challenge it faced.

It knew it stood between New Palestine and an Indiana record third-straight Class 3A softball state championship. It knew, while it was ranked seventh in the state, the No. 1 Dragons entered the matchup as the overwhelming favorite.
