MUNCIE, Ind. — Jared Turner had a feeling Yorktown would be challenged.
The Tigers’ cross country coach knew that at the 2019 Delaware County cross country meet Wapahani would bring a strong pack of runners on the boys side and, on the girls side, Delta had the frontrunners to win it all. But as the Tigers’ Matthew Mitsch and Eagles’ Makayla Robles finished first in the boys and girls races, respectively, and their competitors followed, it became clear Yorktown had done enough to at least put itself in contention to sweep the team titles for the second straight year.
