MUNCIE, Ind. — Yorktown and Delta took the top two spots in both the boys and girls race at Saturday's sectional, with each school bringing home some hardware.
The Tigers (64) placed three in the top 10 on their way to a boys title at the Muncie SportsPlex, followed by Delta (71), Muncie Central (75), Monroe Central (92) and Winchester (158). All five teams advance to next weekend's regional. On the girls side, the Eagles (60) place first followed by Yorktown (73), Wapahani (107), Jay County (113) and Randolph Southern (122).
Yorktown's boys championship was particularly significant, as it was the program's first sectional title since 1997.
