Because about five years ago — March 1, 2016 — was the last time Yorktown's boys basketball team had beaten Delta. In nine straight games since then, the Eagles beat the Tigers by 10 or more points. None of the seniors in this year's Yorktown senior class or the one before it knew what it was like to beat their cross-county rival.
During the first round of the 2021 Delaware County boys basketball tournament, however, that changed.
