DALEVILLE, Ind. — Three pitches into the softball sectional championship at Daleville Junior-Senior High School, Cowan sophomore McKenna Minton was hustling down to first following a routine base hit to right field.
While Wes-Del was getting the ball back to its pitcher, Kenzie Stark, Minton hustled to second base and ended up safely on third. Similar base-running aggressiveness came from sophomore Aryonna Bynum, senior Kaylee Kear, sophomore Tatum Rickert, senior Rylee Mace and ... well, the entirety of the Blackhawks' lineup that proceeded.
By the end of the first inning, Cowan jumped in front 3-0. After two, it led 5-0.
