MUNCIE, Ind. — Where 2020 brought mostly disappointment and heartbreak, 2021 brought triumph for many East Central Indiana high school athletic teams.
From the record-breaking performances, to the state champions to the schools seeing postseason success for the first time in years, 2021 will be forever remembered — in some way — by most every high school in Blackford, Delaware, Jay and Randolph counties.
Here's a look back at the biggest ECI high school sports stories from 2021:
Cowan won 1st wrestling county, sectional titles (January)
Cowan, one of the top Class A wrestling teams in the state, earned both its first Delaware County and sectional championships in January.
