Will Power wins his second IndyCar Grand Prix

INDIANAPOLIS – This result seemed inevitable.

Not only had the pole-sitter won the IndyCar Grand Prix two years in a row, but Will Power entered Saturday’s race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway seemingly long overdue to score his first victory of the Verizon IndyCar season.

He seemed all but assured victory at Alabama, leading two thirds of the race before a flat tire derailed his day there. The next week at Phoenix, the Team Penske driver chased Simon Pagenaud all race but could never quite catch him and had to settle for second.

There would be no settling on Saturday.
