MUNCIE, Ind. — Barring unforeseen complications, the Muncie Fieldhouse will open again this fall for the first time since a severe November 2017 storm damaged part of its roof and left other areas in disarray.
Fans will once again flock to the storied gym. They’ll gaze up at the banners that hang from the rafters. They’ll cheer as Muncie Central Bearcats, and other athletes from around the state, grace the court. But whether or not people will look back on their time there during the 2019-20 boys and girls basketball seasons and cherish memories of not just regular season action, but sectional play as well, is unclear.
