MUNCIE, Ind. — At first, Latrell Fordham still felt confident in Ball State football’s coaching staff when offensive coordinator Joey Lynch decided, around New Year's Day, to leave for Colorado State.

Fordham, a 247Sports Composite three-star athlete out of Davison High School in Michigan, had signed this past December as a wide receiver in BSU's 2020 recruiting class. He had talked with Lynch, who was also BSU’s assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach, and other coaches throughout his recruitment about how he might see the field as a freshman. Fordham had developed a bond with them.
