What BSU men’s basketball commit Basheer Jihad could bring in year 1, and beyond

MUNCIE, Ind. — Todd Negoshian could tell, when Basheer Jihad was a sophomore in high school, that Jihad had a chance to be a Division I athlete.

Negoshian, Jihad's boys basketball coach at North Farmington High School in Michigan, saw a growing athlete in Jihad who he said was 6-6 at the time and developing physically almost like a “baby giraffe.” Negoshian then watched Jihad progress into the senior he was this past season. Negoshian knew Jihad would be really good, and when Jihad was a junior Negoshian knew Jihad was a Division I athlete.

Jihad said he’s now about 6-9 and 220 pounds.
