ESTERO, Fla. – The Ball State women's basketball team (1-3) fell to Fordham (3-2) by a score of 78-70 despite only trailing by one to the Rams with under a minute remaining, in the opening game of the 2018 Gulf Coast Showcase.
The Cardinals didn't lose due to lack of effort. Ball State had led the entire first half but the Rams shot 50 percent (9-of-18) from the field in the third quarter while defensively holding Ball State to just 20 percent (3-of-15) which ended up to be the deciding factor.
Sophomore forward Oshlynn Brown and true freshman point guard Abi Haynes led Ball State in scoring with 12-points apiece.
