SELMA, Ind. — Madison Thompson and her Wapahani teammates are not ignorant of the fact the Raiders have not won a sectional title in girls basketball since the 1998-99 season.
Thompson talked about winning one when she was in middle school. The coaching staff headed by Brad Cutter that led the Raiders for three seasons before Scott Hudson’s first year in charge last season talked about it. Hudson’s staff and the current team talk about it. They all know what the program is chasing.
And so, while Wapahani enters this season with various team and individual goals, there’s one that comes to mind first even before winning a county tournament championship.
