MUNCIE, Ind. — It was a muddy and unseasonably warm day at the Delta cross-country sectional, which saw Yorktown's girls win its fifth sectional title and Wapahani's boys win its first team sectional in five years.
In the girls race, Delta finished 1-2 with Nicki Southerland (18:52) cruising to her second sectional title. Delta's Makayla Robles (21:17) finished second and has placed top-three at the sectional each of her four varsity seasons.
Yorktown's upperclass trio of Grace Huisman (seventh, 22:29), Ali Smith (eighth, 22:33) and Rachael Stagge (10th, 22:52) helped lead the Tigers to the team sectional title.
