MUNCIE, Ind. — As Ball State’s head football coach has watched the turmoil COVID-19 has created in collegiate athletics and elsewhere, he’s focused on what he could control.
Mike Neu hasn’t let himself stray from his positive mindset. He hasn’t become bogged down considering the implications of testing situations in various states or what decisions state officials were making. He’s continued to emphasize to those within his program the need operate within the guidelines in place, that everyone should wear masks and practice social distancing, that when athletes weren’t involved in athletics-related activities they should be “staying home, laying low.
