Two veteran Central coaches leave for own reasons

MUNCIE, Ind. — He made the same walk for years, past the pool and up the stairs to the wrestling room. Mark Scott enjoyed this walk at Central, and he delighted in getting on the mat and demonstrating moves even more.

But this past season, his ailing knees couldn't handle that walk. And he was frustrated that he couldn't get low to show his kids the proper technique. Just getting to and from practice became a chore.

So when Scott recently resigned as head coach after 28 seasons, seven sectional titles and two regional titles, he realized just how crazy this change would be.
