GASTON, Ind. — Ed Geesaman has been waiting years for a win like Friday night's.
Not for himself. Following a 45-42 victory over Burris, the third-year Wes-Del girls basketball coach made that much clear. Since his arrival, Geesaman has been waiting for a win like this — one against a good team — for his players, his assistant coaches and the Wes-Del fans, many of whom weren't able to see it in person.
Friday night's win, while there wasn't a championship celebrated, was big for Wes-Del. You could sense that outside the locker room postgame as the players cheered and Geesaman emerged smiling from ear-to-ear.
