Some Ball State football players face choice of returning in 2021 or going pro

MUNCIE, Ind. — Right now, Ball State football coach Mike Neu is focused on getting through each day.

There’s the COVID-19 testing in the morning. There’s the point when he looks to see if he needs to tweak the team’s practice schedule. There’s the desire to make the most of the time available, especially considering Cardinals athletes are preparing for their Nov. 4 season opener while handling their academic responsibilities after the season was brought back to the fall.

But when the season ends, those of Neu’s 22 seniors, redshirt seniors and graduate athletes who have professional aspirations will have a decision to make.
