MARION, Ind. — Tuesday was a good night for East Central Indiana girls basketball.
Three of the four teams competing in their IHSAA sectional title games took home the trophy — two more than in 2021 — with the lone runner-up, New Castle, falling by one point in overtime.

Sectional 39: Winchester 50, Tipton 47
Winchester (23-1) is officially one of Class 2A's top teams again.
The Golden Falcons, following a two-year stint in 3A, won their 12th 2A sectional title with a 50-47 win over Tipton (21-5) at Eastbrook High School.
