MUNCIE, Ind. — Tayler Persons did what he does best, draining a 3-pointer at the end of regulation to cap a Ball State comeback. But the Cardinals ran out of gas in overtime, falling 88-80 at Kent State.
Three reasons why Ball State fell to 12-8 overall and 3-4 in Mid-American Conference play:
1. Persons does it again
Persons lives for these moments — as if you didn't already know that. He hit game-winning 3-pointers against Notre Dame and Valparaiso and also what could have been a game-winner at Dayton, and he did it again at Kent State.
