Ryan Peltier hit a solo home run to highlight Thursday's 4-0 Ball State exhibition win over the Great Lakes Canadians baseball club. Seven Cardinals pitchers combined for the shutout and yielded just six hits in the 11-inning game.
Peltier, who hit two homers as a freshman last year, lifted a ball out to right-center in the bottom of the 2nd to put the Cards ahead 1-0. The pitching staff did the rest, getting quality work in while striking out 18. It was largely the same group of pitchers who held Butler down in an 11-3 win last weekend.
