MUNCIE, Ind. – It isn’t hard for Ball State baseball coach Rich Maloney to think of moments when Bryan Bullington, one of Maloney’s former pitchers, showcased just how talented of an athlete he was.

There was that Mid-American Conference tournament game in 2001, just days after Bullington was hit in the face by a line drive in the tournament opener, when Bullington stepped back onto the mound and threw for the Cardinals again with a swollen face. There was that game in 2002, against Miami (Fl.), when Bullington started on the road against the defending national champions and struck out 13 in eight innings in what would end up a 12-4 win for BSU.
