‘Obviously, excited’: BSU football looks ahead to its first spring practice since 2019

MUNCIE, Ind. — If Mike Neu was athletic enough, he imagines that Tuesday he’d do a cartwheel and work in some back tucks.

Neu, Ball State’s head football coach, was emotional when it was announced in May 2019 that BSU Athletics would be building an indoor practice facility for his program — as well as others. This past week he’d refer to it as a “game-changer,” as defensive coordinator/inside linebackers coach Tyler Stockton would as well. Neu’s been able to enjoy sneak peaks over the course of its construction.

But while Neu may not be able to perform a back tuck like some of his athletes can, that doesn’t mean he’ll be any less excited for the start of spring ball.
