MUNCIE, Ind. — Wapahani grad Zack Thompson is one of the top college prospects in the nation, according to Baseball America.
The magazine released its list of the top 50 college prospects across the nation on Wednesday, and Thompson came in at No. 6. The Kentucky left-hander projects to be a first-round selection in the June 2019 Major League Baseball Draft.
This comes after Thompson spent the summer playing for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. He finished 1-0 with a 0.00 earned run average and seven strikeouts in 8 2/3 innings of work as the team went 12-3 overall against Chinese Taipei, Japan and Cuba.
