MARION, Ind. — As the final seconds of Delta's football season ticked off the clock, solidifying its 38-21 Sectional 20 Championship loss against Marion, none of the Eagles' players or coaches dropped their heads.
Not right away, at least.
They did in the moments that came after time expired. As Marion (9-3) celebrated in the south end zone, the majority of Delta's players and coaches embraced one other on the opposite side of the field before meeting with their families in front of the visiting bleachers. Others stood in silence while some sat on the turf with their face buried in their hands.
