New Castle volleyball coach Sarah Roush resigns after back-to-back state titles

NEW CASTLE — One of Indiana's best high school volleyball programs will have a new head coach next year.

Sarah Roush has resigned as the New Castle head volleyball coach effectively immediately, per a press release from the school.

The release says that the decision came because of family reasons. Roush, who had her second child in January "just feels like she needs to spend more time with her family," the release says.

The release added: "We hate to lose coach Roush but we understand that she needs to spend time with her family."

In her two seasons as New Castle's head coach, Roush led the Trojans to back-to-back state championships, one in Class 3A in 2018 and one in Class 4A 2019.
