NEW CASTLE, Ind. — It was a sea of green on the floor at New Castle Fieldhouse, smiles every which way and the smell of freshly opened Sharpies hovering over the celebration.
Mason Gillis was the first up the ladder, but a dull pair of scissors made it tough for him to snip the net. Once he finally got his piece, Gillis stepped down to a crowd of youngsters waiting for his autograph and a picture with the Trojans' star big man.
He stayed kneeled down in that huddle until he had signed every single last one of them.
