MUNCIE, Ind. — Don Wafer entered Tom Lyon’s office in a panic earlier this week. The longtime Muncie Central tennis coach was supposed to submit a form three weeks ago to reapply for his job, but the internet at the high school had been spotty, and it never went through.
He tried to submit it from his home computer on Sunday, but he was told that they weren’t taking any more forms. This meant, in theory, that the 32-year head coach would have to interview for his job all over again.
