Muncie Central's all-time leading rusher Shoka Griffin commits to Ball State football

MUNCIE, Ind. — It started in fifth grade, Shoka Griffin's dream of playing college football.

At that time, football was already a big part of Griffin's life. Muncie Central head coach Darrick Lee remembers the days when Griffin played Metro football. Now, he's just happy to have had a front row seat watching Griffin's journey.

That fifth-grader with a dream would go on to play for Muncie Central High School and to surpass local legend Eddie Faulkner as the Bearcats' all-time leading rusher with 3,870 yards. If he had played more his freshman year, didn't have half of his junior season canceled or even got one more game this year, Griffin very well could've finished with over 4,000 career rushing yards.
