A former Muncie Central star has earned a shot to play for a spot with USA Basketball.
The University of Dayton announced Friday the USA Basketball Junior National Team Committee invited Jayla Scaife, who graduated from Central in 2016 and was an Indiana All-Star, to take part May 16-20 in the Pan American Games team trials. Scaife recently wrapped up her junior season with the Flyers.

"Getting an invitation is a huge honor and I am grateful and thankful to God for this opportunity," Scaife said in a release.
