MUNCIE, Ind. — As Muncie Central fans filtered out of the Southside Middle School gymnasium on Friday night, athletic director Tom Lyon instructed a staff member to take down all of the purple Bearcat signs.
For the last two years, Southside has been the home to the Bearcats after storm damage rendered the Muncie Fieldhouse unusable. But Friday was (hopefully) the last time Central will have to play at Southside as repairs recently began at the historic gym. Lyon said the teams may have access to the Fieldhouse this summer and the volleyball team should be back playing in there in the fall.
